On the Lake of Der

The lake of Der Chantecoq and the ponds which surround it, constitute a true Eden. More than 270 species of birds, 45 species of dragonflies and more than 200 vegetable species of the wet mediums were listed there. Classified in national reserve of hunting and wild fauna since 1978, the site there is recognized Community zone of interest for the wild birds and appears among natural spaces of the International Convention of RAMSAR on the wetlands.
Each year with the migration in autumn, of 80000 water birds (especially the common cranes) make stopover on the reserve and offer a spectacle unique in France.
